The Experience

The VASA  gallery and artist studios are open to visitors during our regular hours. A new exhibition is curated monthly so there is always new exciting art in the gallery. Most artist studios will be open for viewing as well. Visitors are likely to meet one of our resident artists, as they each work a shift managing the gallery and surrounding artist studios. Resident artists on duty are happy to share their work and discuss their art and artistic practice.

Each year VASA participates in St. Albert's Art Walk and several other community events. Please visit us regularly and during these special events!

The Mandate

Our mandate is to provide assistance and support to professional and emerging visual artists living in St. Albert and surrounding areas.

VASA provides a cooperative workplace of 19 artist studios and an exhibition space. Our programs and workshops also support the professional development of visual artists by providing information, training, and opportunities for inspiration, experimentation, and fellowship.

Artistic development is also provided to emerging visual artists with disabilities through the Authentic Art Program.

The Team

VASA is managed by a Board of Directors composed of volunteer members, and operated by a large group of volunteer Committee Chairpersons, volunteer members and one staff member.

VASA is supported by The City of St. Albert, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and the Canada Council for the Arts.
