How can we stay emotionally balanced when we have experienced loss, while juggling life’s demands of family, work, and community obligations? In this workshop series, we will explore how we can support our emotional wellness as we experience loss in our lives. Our grief can be separation from our loved ones, loss of the familiar culture and home due to immigration, a loss of loved one, an unmarked life transition, changes in our health or changes in part of ourselves we wish to remember. Through different art-making activities and grounding exercises, we will learn tools to reduce stress, support our mental health and wellness, so we can be resilient in our lives. Participants will be invited to create and share in a safe group environment.
The workshop is open to all levels of experience with art-making!
Pre-registration is required.

We can lose touch with our own needs when there are many stressors in our lives. In this workshop series, we will explore how art-making can be a way of connecting to ourselves and to connect and communicate with others in our community. We will explore different art mediums like drawing, painting and collage as an individual activity and in a group that will show how we can learn about ourselves and help build connection to others. We will experience art as a way to understand ourselves, as a tool of self-care and take care of isolation by being in community. Participants will be invited to create and share in a safe group environment.
