Brushes & Breezes: Plein Air Landscapes showcases the recent work of members of the St. Albert Plein Air Painters Group, who have been getting together every week to enjoy the outdoors and paint at different locations around the city of St. Albert. Locals will recognize spots from their city including Grandin Pond, Seven Hills, St. Albert Botanical Gardens, Riverlot 56, among many others.
Painting outdoors includes its own challenges of wind, cold, heat and rain. The challenge is to work quickly but to portray the scene accurately and expressively. Thoughtful mark-making is required to bring the local scenes to life.
