“I am a visual artist, currently living in St. Albert, Alberta. I was born in Morinville, Alberta and taught elementary school in Legal, Barrhead and St. Albert where I enjoyed teaching a variety of school subjects, especially Art. I always encouraged my students to express themselves freely in unique and inventive ways, to stir emotion in the viewer. After retirement I began painting and enjoyed hosting Paint Parties, always encouraging the participants to incorporate their own ideas and make unique choices to produce individualistic works of art. Since I have always experienced a connection to lake life, my own paintings are usually representations of colourful skies, northern lights, chickadees, trees, bulrushes. Painting gives me peace and connection to the beauty of nature, and I truly enjoy sharing these feelings with others through my Art. I paint with vivid acrylics because of their bold and expressive qualities. Lately I have played with metallics and enjoy how they become vibrant when exposed to rays of sunlight. My work is generally representational with a sprinkle of abstract and the occasional dash of bling. I hope my paintings will grasp you emotionally and provide you comfort, peace and pleasure.”
